How much a yoga or Pilates class costs

What affects the price

  • One-on-one or in a group

A one-on-one class with an instructor costs more than a spot in a pair or a small group, and corporate yoga at an office is often priced for the whole group.

  • Mat or reformer

Reformer Pilates usually takes place in a studio with equipment, so it costs more than a class on a mat.

  • Online, at home or in a studio

An online class, an instructor coming to you with mats and props, and a class in a studio are priced differently.

  • A narrow specialty

Prenatal yoga or classes with children are separate specialties that instructors train for on top of the basics, so they often cost more.

Prices come from specialists' profiles on Nexperity and update automatically. You agree the final price with the specialist directly.

How to choose a yoga or Pilates instructor

  1. 1

    Style and level

Hatha yoga, vinyasa and classical mat Pilates differ in pace and intensity. Check the instructor's services to see what exactly they teach and for which level.

  2. 2

    Where the instructor trained

Ask about their training and teaching experience, especially for the reformer. Nexperity does not check certificates, so you can ask to see course documents.

  3. 3

Injuries and pregnancy — in advance

Tell the instructor about injuries or pregnancy before the first class: the choice of exercises depends on it. If you are unsure whether this kind of exercise is right for you, ask a doctor first.

  4. 4

Online — live and in frame

Check whether classes are live rather than recorded, and how to place the camera so the instructor sees your whole body and can correct your pose.

  5. 5

    Props and space

Find out whether the instructor will bring a mat, blocks and straps or whether you should buy them in advance, and how much free space you need at home.

What to put in the order

The more precise the description, the more precise the prices in responses.
  • Yoga or Pilates — and the type, if you know it: hatha, vinyasa, reformer

  • Your experience: a complete beginner, you have practiced before, or you practice now

  • Format: online, in a studio or at home, and for in-person classes, the district

  • How many people will take part: just you, two of you or a group of colleagues

  • How often you plan to practice, convenient times and payment per class
