How much boxing and martial arts classes cost

What affects the price

  • Private or group

A private session usually costs more than a group class, and training as a pair is in between — plus you have someone to drill with right away.

  • Gym and equipment

Renting a gym with a ring, mats or heavy bags may be included in the class price or paid for separately.

  • Coach coming to you

If the coach comes to your home, office or a park with their own pads and gloves, travel is often charged separately.

  • Tournament preparation

Sparring, tactics for a specific opponent and support at the event are priced differently from training for yourself.

  • Belt gradings

Belt grading fees and tournament entry fees are often paid separately from the training itself.

Prices come from specialists' profiles on Nexperity and update automatically. You agree the final price with the specialist directly.

How to choose a martial arts coach

  1. 1

A style that fits your goal

Boxing and Muay Thai are stand-up striking, judo and jiu-jitsu are throws and grappling, and MMA combines both. Check the coach's services to see which style they teach.

  2. 2

    A session to try

Ask for a trial class: you will see how the coach explains technique, pairs people up and keeps an eye on beginners' workload.

  3. 3

    Sparring and protective gear

Ask when sparring starts, what protection is needed — mouthguard, headgear, hand wraps — and whether you can train without contact. Tell the coach about injuries in advance.

  4. 4

    Working with kids

Ask from what age the coach takes children, how many are in a group and whether parents can watch a class.

  5. 5

    Belts and titles

Nexperity does not check a coach's belts or sports titles: ask which federation or school awarded them. It matters if you plan belt gradings or tournaments.

What to put in the order

The more precise the description, the more precise the prices in responses.
  • Style: boxing, kickboxing, MMA, karate, judo or another one

  • Who will train: an adult or a child, a beginner or experienced — and the child's age

  • Goal: fitness, self-defense, competitions or a belt grading

  • Format: private, as a pair or in a group — at a gym, at home, outdoors or online

  • Whether you have your own gloves, hand wraps and mouthguard, or need the coach's equipment

  • District, convenient days and times, and payment per class or per month
