Swimming coach — swimming lessons and aqua fitness

A swimming coach helps when a child is afraid of the water, an adult never learned to swim, or you finally want a proper front crawl. In an order, say who will learn and which pool suits you, and coaches will send responses. Or choose a coach from your own pool by prices and client reviews.

How much swimming lessons cost

What affects the price

  • Pool entry

A lesson with a coach may not include pool entry — in that case you pay for it separately with a single ticket, a pass or a club card.

  • One-on-one or in a group

A one-on-one lesson usually costs more than a lesson in a pair or a small group, where the coach works with several swimmers in one lane at once.

  • The swimmer's age

Swimming for babies and toddlers has its own method and often takes place in a separate warm pool, so it is priced differently from an adult lesson.

  • The goal of the lessons

Building a front crawl with proper breathing or preparing for a competition is longer technical work than learning to stay afloat, and it usually costs more.

  • Online technique analysis

Technique analysis from your pool video and an online training plan are a separate service with its own price.

Prices come from specialists' profiles on Nexperity and update automatically. You agree the final price with the specialist directly.

How to choose a swimming coach

  1. 1

    Baby, child or adult

Babies often train together with a parent, preschoolers learn through play, and an adult beginner often starts by learning to lie calmly on the water. Ask which ages the coach works with.

  2. 2

    Where the lessons take place

Ask where exactly the coach teaches and whether you can train with them at the pool you already go to: pools have different rules for outside coaches.

  3. 3

    In the water or poolside

With children and beginners, a coach often gets into the water too. Ask how it will work in your lessons and whether a lifeguard is on duty at the pool.

  4. 4

    Pool rules and health

Check what the pool where the lessons take place asks for: some require a medical certificate. Tell the coach about chronic conditions and limitations in advance, and if in doubt, consult a doctor.

  5. 5

    The first lesson

Agree on a first lesson: it shows whether the coach can connect with a child who is afraid of the water and whether the pace suits you.

What to put in the order

The more precise the description, the more precise the prices in responses.
  • Who will learn: an adult, a child or a baby — and their age

  • Current level: afraid of the water, can stay afloat, or swims but without technique

  • Goal: learn to swim from scratch, master front crawl or breaststroke, aqua fitness

  • District and pool: public, club or your own — and whether you have a pass

  • One-on-one or in a group, how many times a week and at what time

  • Payment per lesson or per course, and when you want to start
