How much a family photo session costs

What affects the price

  • Mini session or several hours

A mini session in ready-made New Year decor costs less than a walk of several hours with changes of outfits and locations.

  • How many people are in the shot

A big family with grandparents needs more group shots, individual portraits and editing time than a shoot of one person or a couple with a baby.

  • Amount of retouching

Color correction of every shot and detailed retouching of skin, hair and background on selected portraits are priced differently.

  • Studio, makeup and dresses

Studio rental, a makeup artist or dresses from the studio's wardrobe add to the price unless the photographer has included them in their package.

  • Season and time of the shoot

Before New Year, on autumn weekends and before sunset photographers are busiest, so a shoot at these times can cost more.

Prices come from specialists' profiles on Nexperity and update automatically. You agree the final price with the specialist directly.

How to choose a family photographer

  1. 1

    Whole sessions with kids

Ask to see the full shoot of one family with small children: natural shots in motion take patience and play, not just posing.

  2. 2

    Editing style

Warm film tones, rich colors or black-and-white shots — check whether the editing style is consistent across the photographer's sessions.

  3. 3

    Business portrait

For a portrait for a website or a résumé, ask whether the photographer will help with clothes and posing and leave free space in the frame for banner text.

  4. 4

    Weather and rescheduling

Agree in advance on what happens to the deposit if an outdoor shoot has to be moved because of rain or a child's cold.

  5. 5

    Delivery time and files

Ask when you will get the finished photos, what size the files will be, and whether you can pay extra to have a few more shots edited.

What to put in the order

The more precise the description, the more precise the prices in responses.
  • Who will be in the photos: how many adults and children, how old the children are, whether a pet will join

  • Where to shoot: outdoors, in a studio or at home — and in which district

  • The occasion and mood: a New Year or autumn shoot, a portrait for a website

  • Preferred date or season, and how much time for the shoot

  • A few example shots whose light and mood you like

  • How many edited photos you need, and whether you will order prints or a photo book
