Dog and cat grooming — find a groomer

Full grooming, a hygiene trim, hand-stripping or deshedding — at a salon or at home. Describe the breed and the condition of the coat, and groomers will send you responses, or choose a groomer yourself by photos of their work and reviews.

How much grooming costs

What affects the price

  • Size and breed

Bathing and drying a pug and a Samoyed take very different amounts of time, so the prices differ too.

  • Coat condition

Mats and heavy shedding add work, and a matted coat sometimes has to be clipped short.

  • Set of treatments

A full groom with bathing, drying and a haircut costs more than just nails or a hygiene trim.

  • The animal's temperament

A nervous or restless animal needs breaks and more time, and sometimes a second pair of hands.

  • Salon or home visit

Grooming at home is calmer for some animals, but a groomer's visit is often paid separately.

Prices come from specialists' profiles on Nexperity and update automatically. You agree the final price with the specialist directly.

How to choose a groomer

  1. 1

    Experience with your breed

Wire-haired breeds usually need hand-stripping rather than clippers — ask whether the groomer does it.

  2. 2

    Before and after photos

Ask to see work with animals of your breed and size, not just the best shots.

  3. 3

    Cats are a separate skill

Not every groomer works with cats: if you have a cat, check this in advance.

  4. 4

    Calm handling

Ask how the groomer calms the animal and whether you can stay nearby during the procedure.

  5. 5

    Products and tools

Ask what they use for bathing and drying, especially if your pet has sensitive skin or an allergy.

What to put in the order

The more precise the description, the more precise the prices in responses.
  • Species and breed, age and approximate weight

  • Coat condition: any mats, when the last haircut was

  • Which treatments you need: full groom, haircut, nails, ears

  • Temperament: whether it fears the dryer, whether it lets its paws be trimmed

  • Salon or home visit, convenient days and times
