Esthetician — facial cleansing, masks and peels

Clogged pores, dry skin after winter or care before a celebration: an esthetician can do facial cleansing, a mask or a superficial peel — no injections, no medical treatment. Choose a specialist by prices and client reviews, or name the procedure and area in an order: face, neck or back.

How much facial cleansing and peels cost

What affects the price

  • Type of cleansing

Manual cleansing takes longer than ultrasonic, and combined cleansing uses both, so it usually costs more than either one alone.

  • Professional products

A lot depends on the professional product line the esthetician works with: masks and peels from different brands differ in composition and price.

  • What the procedure includes

Makeup removal, a light peel before cleansing, a soothing mask and a facial massage may be included in the price or charged separately.

  • Treatment area

The face, the face with neck and décolleté, or the back are areas of different size, and each takes its own time.

  • Single visit or a course

Superficial peels are usually done as a course: several procedures spaced some time apart. An esthetician may set a separate price for the whole course.

Prices come from specialists' profiles on Nexperity and update automatically. You agree the final price with the specialist directly.

How to choose an esthetician

  1. 1

    Training in your procedures

Nexperity does not check diplomas, so ask where the esthetician trained, and ask to see course certificates for exactly the cleansings or peels you need.

  2. 2

    A conversation first

The choice of peel depends on your skin type, allergies, home care and any recent tan, so the esthetician should ask about them before the procedure. If your skin is inflamed, see a dermatologist first.

  3. 3

    Sterile tools

The spoon and loop for manual cleansing should come out of a sealed sterile pouch in front of you. Wipes and gloves should be single-use.

  4. 4

    Care after a peel

Ask how long to stay out of the sun after the procedure, how to care for your skin at home and how soon you can come back.

  5. 5

    What clients write

In reviews, look for whether the esthetician explains what they do and why, and whether they push extra procedures or home care products.

What to put in the order

The more precise the description, the more precise the prices in responses.
  • Which procedure you need: cleansing, a peel, a mask or several together

  • Area: the face only, with neck and décolleté, or the back

  • Your skin type, if you know it, and what matters most: clearing pores, hydration or a fresh look before an event

  • A single procedure or a course

  • A brand of professional products, if you have a preference

  • Preferred days for the visit and payment
