A model for a beauty specialist — for a course, exam or portfolio

A beauty specialist needs a model to practice a technique during a course, pass an exam or add to a portfolio. Describe the procedure, terms and requirements in an order, and models will send responses. Or choose a model yourself — by their photos, profile description and client reviews.

Models for beauty specialists

Who pays for a procedure on a model, and how much

What affects the price

  • Procedure and materials

Lash extensions or hair coloring need more materials than brow shaping, and in a training procedure they are often charged separately from the work.

  • Who does the work

A course student supervised by a teacher, a specialist learning a new technique and an experienced one shooting work for a portfolio set different terms.

  • An exam or a competition

A specialist at an exam or a competition needs a model with a certain hair length or nail shape, so the terms are discussed separately: who pays whom, and for what.

  • Photos of the result

Consent to photos and video for a portfolio or social media is part of the arrangement, and the model's terms depend on it too.

  • Number of visits

After lash or nail extensions a fill is sometimes agreed on as well, and complex coloring may be split into two visits.

Prices come from specialists' profiles on Nexperity and update automatically. You agree the final price with the specialist directly.

How to choose a model

  1. 1

    Profile photos

Look through the photos in the model's profile: the length, thickness or shape of their hair, nails or lashes should suit the technique you are practicing.

  2. 2

    Agreeing to changes

Ask which changes the model is ready for: a new hair color, a shorter cut, a new brow shape. After coloring or a haircut, there is no quick way back.

  3. 3

    Photos and publishing

Agree in advance whether you will photograph the result, whether the model's face will be in the shot and where the photos will appear — a portfolio, social media or a course report.

  4. 4

    Time and punctuality

Say how long the procedure will take: training sessions run longer, and the model has to be free the whole time; for an exam they must arrive right on time.

  5. 5

    Client reviews

In client reviews, look for whether the model arrived on time and kept to what was agreed.

What to put in the order

The more precise the description, the more precise the prices in responses.
  • The procedure and technique: manicure, lash extensions, haircut, coloring or something else

  • What for: course practice, an exam, a competition or a portfolio

  • Model requirements: hair length, nail shape, whether lash extensions are fine

  • Whether you will photograph or film the result, and whether the face will be in the shot

  • District and place: a studio, a training center or the specialist's treatment room

  • Convenient days, how much time to set aside, and payment: who pays for what
